Correspondence with Fort Worth University

Follow the conversation that H.J.L. Stark and N.C. Cofer, Fort Worth University football manager, had through letters as they discuss a possible football game between the universities.

January 18, 1910

A two-age letter from N.C. Cofer to H.J.L. Stark inquiring would they be interested in a game in Fort Worth if they were already coming for a football in Dallas.  Cofer goes on to say that Fort Worth University expects to have a fast time and could give the University of Texas a good game.

January 29, 1910

Letter from H.J.L. Stark to N.C. Cofer stating he believes that they could arrange a football game.  Stark goes on to ask what guarantee can Fort Worth University offer for a football game on either October 25th or November 3rd.  He also asks what guarantee would Forth Worth University need if they were to come to Austin on November 10th.

February 1, 1910

Letter from N.C. Cofer to H.J.L. Stark stating the guarantee of 60% of the net gate receipts for a football game on October 25th or November 3rd.  Cofer explains that he is confident that the guarantee would equal $250 to $500.  Cofer goes on to state that for a football game on November 10th in Austin, Forth Worth University would ask for expenses for 17 men.

Letter from H.J.L. Stark to N.C. Cofer states that the arrangement of the football schedule causes the University of Texas is not to be able to play a football game with Fort Worth University.
